Job summary

Wiley University seeks an Associate Vice President for Student Development & Strategic Retention to serve as second-in-command in the Division of Student Development.

Reporting to the Vice President, the AVP provides day-to-day leadership across student activities, career development, student development programming, and housing & residence life, ensuring these functions operate as a coordinated unit in service of student success and retention.

Qualifications

  • Master’s in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field; doctorate preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressively responsible student affairs experience.
  • Experience across student activities, student development, career development, housing/residence life.
  • Demonstrated success building student leadership development programs.
  • Strong supervisory experience managing staff and budgets.
  • Preferred: Title IX expertise/certification (ATIXA).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of directors across student activities, career development, student programming, and housing/residence life.
  • Design and assess co-curricular and leadership development programs that advance student learning, belonging, and retention.
  • Provide strategic oversight of career development—coaching, internships, employer relations, and outcomes tracking.
  • Serve as a divisional Title IX resource, guiding compliance, training, and prevention education.
  • Drive divisional strategic planning, assessment, budgeting, and accreditation efforts.
  • Represent the Vice President and division at institutional meetings and events as delegated.
