Position

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a eCommerce Domain Architect. The eCommerce Domain Architect is responsible for shaping the commerce architecture strategy for multiple clients, leading solution design for complex digital commerce programs, and ensuring that delivered solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to each client’s business goals. They act as the senior architectural authority across pursuits and engagements, partnering with sales and delivery to define reference architectures, guide implementation, and drive reuse of assets and accelerators.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture for eCommerce deals and engagements, including discovery, solution shaping, estimations, and creation of client-facing architecture collateral (slides, diagrams, RFP/RFI responses).
• Define client-specific and cross-client reference architectures for B2C/B2B commerce (e.g., headless/composable, marketplace, omni-channel), leveraging industry-relevant platforms, patterns, and Persistent accelerators.
• Translate client business strategies and requirements into target-state architectures and roadmaps, balancing time-to-market, cost, and technical risk.
• Own end-to-end solution design across experience, APIs, services, data, and integrations for commerce programs (web, mobile, marketplaces, in-store digital).
• Design integration patterns between commerce platforms and enterprise systems (ERP, PIM, OMS, CRM, CDP, payments, tax, fraud, logistics) using APIs, events, and messaging.
• Define and govern non-functional requirements (performance, availability, scalability, security, observability) and ensure these are reflected in designs, estimates, and delivery plans.
• Provide architectural leadership to delivery teams: review designs, perform design and code reviews on critical components, and ensure adherence to reference architectures and best practices.
• Collaborate with sales team on pre-sales activities: client workshops, solution options, trade-off analysis, and presenting architecture to business and IT executives.
• Contribute to creation and evolution of internal assets: blueprints, solution playbooks, reference implementations, estimation models, and reusable components for commerce.
• Mentor solution architects and senior engineers, helping build the firm’s commerce architecture capability and community of practice.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software/solution architecture, with significant experience designing and delivering large-scale eCommerce or digital experience solutions in a consulting/tech services context.
• Hands-on architecture experience with major commerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce/Magento, SAP Commerce, commercetools, Shopify Plus, VTEX) and modern web/mobile stacks.
• Strong knowledge of modern digital architecture: APIs and microservices, headless/composable commerce, cloud-native (AWS/Azure/GCP), CI/CD, containers, and event-driven integration.
• Deep understanding of core commerce domains: catalog and PIM, pricing and promotions, search and merchandising, cart and checkout, payments, tax, fraud, order management, fulfillment, returns, loyalty.
• Demonstrated pre-sales experience: shaping solutions, contributing to proposals and SOWs, presenting to senior stakeholders, and supporting deal qualification and closure.
• Strong consulting skills: requirements discovery, facilitation, stakeholder management, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both business and technical audiences.
