Opened in April of 2017,Cielo Grande Veterinary Center is proud to serve the Roswell, NM area for everything pet-related. We have a fantastic staff with decades of animal experience and we have a well equipped building so we can accommodate appointments and walk ins Monday through Friday. Cielo Grande Veterinary Center is the highest rated veterinary hospital in Chaves County!

We primarily focus on companion animals, but won’t turn away an animal in need. In order to serve our community, we take scheduled wellness and sick appointments while also always making urgent care services available. Our doctors are supported by a remarkable team of experienced veterinary technicians and client service representatives.


Position Purpose

We are currently a two-doctor practice that loves our fast-paced and steady lifestyle andweare looking for associate veterinarians of all experience levels to join us! We are very invested in our DVMs and the future of our practice, so for that reason we are offering a $100k Sign On Bonus for our ideal candidate!

Our practice is always willing to take on new graduates and provide mentorship as our doctors have an aptitude to teach. We are the perfect learning environment to develop crucial veterinary skills as our distance from other practices limits our referrals. Our hospital gives you an opportunity to experience many of our own in-depth diagnostics and analyses. We welcome a doctor who sees exotics but ask that they be fully functional. About the area:Cielo Grande Veterinary Clinic is located in Roswell, New Mexico. Like our name, we are known for our big beautiful sky, jaw-dropping stargazing, and get to experience all four seasons. There is always something to do in town. We have a concert venue that brings in performers/concerts every week. In addition to music, our city is built around a rich history of art and culture, providing us with many great festivals throughout the year. We have multiple art galleries in town that host various events. Roswell is also great for those that love the outdoors. Sierra Blanca Peak west of Roswell offers great ski or snowboard opportunities, and a mountain resort community. Near town, Bottomless Lakes offers opportunities for swimming and fishing. We are conveniently located near multiple state parks and bigger recreational lakes. We are just a short drive from the famous White Sands National Park and Lincoln National Forest.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

The Associate Veterinarian will need an educational background of at least:A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree, or equivalent, from an AVMA accredited university.
