Harbor Point is ready to hire an experienced Veterinarian to support our growing team! Harbor Point is nestled close to Lake Norman. 3 hour drive to the beach or mountains. It is also known as a vacation destination and home of NASCAR! We have an affluent client base, providing us with the opportunity to provide top notch quality care. Harbor Point's newly renovated hospital offers state-of-the-art equipment, a bright and collaborative team environment, and has an excellent reputation in the community. We are looking for a veterinarian who is excited to learn and grow their career by performing routine surgeries and developing their surgical skills alongside our collaborative team. You will have a strong support staff and up to date equipment in a well established practice!

• Provide comprehensive and compassionate medical care to all animal patients while ensuring excellent client service is delivered to animal owners
• Role model professional standards and client service expectations
• Develop a rapport with clients and work to retain knowledge about their animals and specific care needs
• Mentor support staff to broaden their skill set and continually elevate service standards within the practice
• Attend leadership meetings to further professional development
• Participate in Continuing Education (CE) as required by the state and as needed to continually elevate medical standards at the practice
• Collaborate with practice leaders to establish financial and reputation goals for the practice while working hard to achieve these goals
• Adhere to the veterinary Code of Ethics
• Manage multiple cases at one time without sacrificing patient care or client service
• Develop SOPs and patient care standards with fellow veterinarians while ensuring consistent execution across the practice
• Deliver in-house medical training as needed
• Maintain a positive, cooperative working relationship with all team members
• Ensure the accurate and thorough completion of patient records and the integrity of all recordkeeping standards within the practice
• Understand and carry out treatment orders from other veterinarian’s cases in their absence – adjust treatment plans based on patient condition or diagnostic results
• Perform other duties as assigned or as required to optimize the practice
• DVM degree or equivalent
• License to practice veterinary medicine within applicable state(s)
• Previous experience practicing veterinary medicine preferred but not required
• Diverse academic knowledge of veterinary medicine
• Ability to translate medical knowledge and to train support staff
• Must possess and role model the highest ethical standards for practicing veterinary medicine
• Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to introduce and role model strong service standards for all types of client interactions
• Proficient computer and software skills including: Word, Excel, Outlook, and other practice management systems and software
• Must show a commitment to professional development and continual improvement
• Dynamic interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and to manage stress gracefully
• Critical thinking and analytical abilities with strong attention to detail to guide medical decisions
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role including standing, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be flexible regarding work schedule to accommodate the needs of the practice
