Animal General in Avon, Connecticut is part of the PetVet Care Centers network, providing high-quality veterinary care to dogs and cats in a collaborative setting. We seek an Associate Veterinarian to join our clinical team and work with experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to deliver compassionate care.

The ideal candidate will hold a DVM or VMD, have a current state license, and possess strong diagnostic, surgical, and client-communication skills to build lasting

Qualifications

• Veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) required.
• Current State Veterinary License required.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice.
• Strong diagnostic and surgical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Communicate with clients and educate on care plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Fulfill pharmacy duties and follow controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on priorities and expectations.
• Monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds when possible to maintain high standards.
