This position is available because an associate of the practice is moving home to Illinois after 11 years with our teamto be closer to her family. We encourage all of our associates to spend more time with their families, traveling, andtake time to pursue hobbies outside of their life as a veterinarian. All of our veterinarians, including our departingassociate, are available as a reference for our practice.

The mentoring of a veterinarian in practice is imperative for them to grow as a clinician. Clinical veterinary practiceis a combination of the practice of veterinary medicine and the art of practice. Our Needs in a Veterinary Associate: We need an associate who is highly motivated, has excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the desire andcommitment to continue to grow into an exceptional practitioner. Your long-term happiness and continuedassociation is our goal!

Schedule: Our associates work a 4-day work week that includes outpatient appointments as well as surgical/dentalprocedures. Workweek is a semi-set schedule offering flexibility for outside of work events.

• AAHA Accredited Hospital since 1988
• 6 Veterinarians – 1 is Boarded in Canine and Feline Practice through ABVP, a second associate is currently in the process of obtaining their ABVP in Canine and Feline Practice.
• Remote Radiologist (ACVR) reads all films and assists with training in radiology
• Electronic charting, fully digital practice
• 12 Registered Veterinary Technicians, this allows our veterinarians to focus on clinical practice while our RVT’s complete treatments based on veterinarian directives 13 exam rooms in a modern, contemporary designed practice.
• Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical tools, including ultrasound, endoscopy, and laparoscopy, which we can provide training. We do not perform orthopedic procedures, allowing our team to focus on soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and advanced diagnostics.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid veterinary license to practice in the state + CSR license.
• DEA license
• USDA certification (can be obtained during employment)
• Strong communication skills to effectively educate pet owners about their pets’ health needs. Ability to work alongside team members with differing communication styles from your own.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
