We are actively involved in teaching, coaching and mentoring veterinary and paraprofessional students. New graduates are welcomed into our practices where they will receive individualized mentoring based on their needs and interests. We’re currently searching for a bright, energetic professional to join our practice and help maintain our high standards of service. The ideal candidate is a natural hard worker who is deeply concerned with pet welfare and willing to support other veterinarians in delivering excellent care and treatment. An Associate Doctor of Veterinary Medicine will provide preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of pets.

Objectives

  • Serve as a primary source of information for pet owners and care providers in the community
  • Continue to learn the latest veterinary treatments and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular and preventive health examinations of pets
  • Assess pets to determine the nature of their disease or injury
  • Implement and coordinate treatment plans for pets, and provide detailed explanations for their owners
  • Manage emergency medical situations by stabilizing a pet’s condition and determining whether a referral is necessary
  • Communicate treatment plans effectively to staff and clients
  • Train interns and new employees in how to perform effectively in the clinic environment

Current Hospital Hours

  • Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • This position offers a flexible start time, while ensuring the workday ends at 6:00 PM.
  • This is a full-time posting, but part-time and relief opportunities may be available.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an AVMA accredited School
  • California State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing prior to their start date
  • Eligible to obtain a DEA license
  • Maintain current Continuing Education requirements for the state of California
  • Committed to ongoing personal growth and education and assisting in leading the development of others
  • A New Graduate or Experienced veterinarian ready to provide compassionate care
