Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent degree required.
• State licensure is required where candidate will be working.
• Compassion for pets and owners is essential.
• Excellent manual dexterity for precise animal handling.
• Ability to react quickly and make sound decisions for animal wellbeing.
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of animal behavior.
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to assess health and diagnose problems.
• Treat and dress wounds.
• Perform surgery on animals.
• Test for and vaccinate against diseases.
• Operate medical equipment such as x-ray machines.
• Advise owners about general care and treatments.
• Prescribe medication.
• Collaborate with team to provide high quality care.
