Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from AVMA-accredited institution.
• Current state veterinary licensure.
• Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; heavier items with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose disease or injuries.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and interpret results.
• Advise owners on preventative care and treatment options.
• Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed.
• Provide counsel on pet end-of-life care.
• Maintain medical records.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and applicable statutes, policies, and procedures.
