Job summary

PetVet Care Centers in Avon, Connecticut, is seeking a Veterinarian (DVM or VMD) to join Animal General with a strong team of clinicians and support staff. This full-time position emphasizes exceptional medicine with flexible scheduling and a 40-hour week, supported by a national network.

You’ll provide preventive and urgent care across a diverse caseload, participate in rounds, and collaborate with leadership. A competitive pay structure includes production bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM or VMD).
• Current State Veterinary License in good standing.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• Minimum of 1 year of veterinary practice experience.
• Strong diagnostic, clinical, surgical, and dental skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical workups.
• Communicate with clients and provide education on care.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment plans.
• Handle pharmacy duties and adhere to controlled substance protocols.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on priorities and daily rounds.
• Ensure high standards of patient care and team coordination.
• Assist in practice management updates and training.
