Job description

Companion Pet Hospital is thrilled to offer world-class service to companion animals while continually expanding our knowledge and skillsets. Our hospital has been AAHA-accredited for twenty-five years, and we are proud to be certified as a Fear-Free and Cat-Friendly Practice. Our hospital is host to a very experienced team that delivers individualized, respectful services with an emphasis on owner education. Companion Pet Hospital is regularly active in the community that has given so much back to us. We currently partner with several rescue groups to provide physical exams to shelter animals.

No matter the service, we strive to ensure we are offering pets the best possible attention and care they can receive, whether that is preventative care, dentistry, or surgery. We offer personalized health care packages for puppies and kittens, mature adults, and animals in their senior years. Our in-clinic diagnostics include laboratory capabilities and digital radiography. The hospital is equipped with the latest technology for routine and complex surgeries, including spays, neuters, soft-tissue, and orthopedic surgeries. To maximize pet wellness, our team specializes in integrative medicine techniques such as laser therapy and acupuncture, especially when pets are not responding to conventional medicine.

Carmel is a historic village in southern New York, just an hour north of New York City. It features rustic trails, wildlife sanctuaries, lakes, historic homes, and a vibrant downtown with haunted hotels and local eateries. Many young professionals choose to live here for its relaxed lifestyle and easy access to NYC, offering a healthy work-life balance.

We offer our veterinarians:

  • Custom candidate offers, competitive compensation, relocation assistance, and student loan support.
  • Work-life balance with flexible scheduling and rotating Saturdays.
  • Comprehensive benefits including 100% employer-paid medical premiums, liability coverage, paid licensing, CE allowance, employee assistance program, and VIN membership. Optional enrollment in dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, 401K with company match, pet care discounts, and more.
  • Significant signing bonuses — contact us for details!
  • Paid parental leave to support family life.
  • Practice with true medical autonomy through our private practice plus model.
  • Flexible pay options, including salary or pro-sal models.

We are seeking a full-time or part-time veterinarian who is compassionate, a team player, and a strong communicator. We support experienced veterinarians and offer mentorship for new or recent graduates. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with soft tissue surgery and dentistry; on-the-job training can be provided.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • All experience levels encouraged to apply.
