Descripción del empleo

We are not a corporate group. Zola Veterinary Group Ltd. is a privately owned and operated veterinary groupbuilt by people who love this profession and refuse to let it become a spreadsheet. There is no private-equityowner setting your production quotas, no distant consolidator dictating a standardized treatment regimen, and no corporate protocol overruling your clinical judgment. Here, the doctor who examines the patientmakes the call. You practice the medicine you believe is right for the animal in front of you.

We are a close-knit team that likes to have fun, practices genuinely good medicine, and treats our clients likefamily. We care for dogs and cats, and we also welcome avian and exotic patients — so if birds, reptiles, andsmall mammals are your passion, you'll have the caseload to match. If you're an experienced veterinarianwho is tired of being told how to practice and wants a real voice in where a growing, independent group is headed, we should talk.

Why ZVG Is Different
  • Medicine without a corporate playbook. Your judgment leads. You practice the medicine you see fit —no corporate treatment templates, no mandated up-sell scripts, no artificial production targets driving care decisions.
  • A real seat at the table. You won't just see patients — you'll learn how a veterinary business actuallyruns. Ownership will mentor you on the operational and financial side of practice, the part your DVMprogram never taught.
  • A voice in the direction of the company. You'll have direct input into ownership's decisions on operations and growth strategy. Your ideas about how the practice should evolve are wanted, heard, and acted on.
  • A future you can own. For the right person, this is a genuine path to ownership and partnership — not a carrot dangled by a consolidator, but a real stake in a business you help build.
  • Interesting medicine. Avian and exotic patients are part of who we are. Whether you're already skilled with them or eager to grow, you'll have variety most small-animal practices can't offer.
  • People, not turnover. We work hard, we support each other, and we actually enjoy showing up. Team meals, outings, and a culture where people are treated like family — clients and colleagues alike.
About the Role

As a veterinarian with Zola Veterinary Group, you'll provide full-scope medical, surgical, and preventive careto a diverse patient base — companion animals alongside avian and exotic species. You'll build lastingrelationships with clients who become part of our extended family, and you'll do it with the autonomy of an independent doctor and the backing of a supportive, well-run team.

What You'll Do
  • Deliver high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care, exercising your own clinical judgment on
  • diagnostics and treatment plans.
  • Care for a varied caseload including dogs, cats, and avian and exotic patients.
  • Build genuine, trusting relationships with clients and educate them on individualized care options.
  • Mentor and collaborate with a close-knit medical team, and be mentored in turn on the business of
  • veterinary medicine.
  • Contribute to operational and growth decisions as a valued voice alongside ownership.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate medical records and uphold a clean, safe, well-organized hospital.
  • Have fun, and help protect the culture that makes this a place people want to work.
What We're Looking For
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited program.
  • Active (or eligible-to-obtain) veterinary license in Ohio, in good standing, and current DEA registration.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience.
  • Experience with — or sincere enthusiasm to grow in — avian and exotic medicine is a strong plus.
  • Sound, independent clinical judgment and a commitment to practicing thoughtful, evidence-based
  • medicine.
  • Strong communication skills and a real love for clients, patients, and teammates.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in the business and future of the practice — the kind of person
  • who wants a seat at the table, not just a shift.
Benefits & Compensation

We invest in the people who invest in our patients. Our benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • Competitive base salary.
  • Profit sharing — when the practice succeeds, you share in it.
  • Quarterly bonus structure.
  • 401(k) with employer matching.
  • Medical, dental, and life insurance.
  • Professional liability insurance.
  • Continuing education (CE) allowance.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Flexible scheduling that respects work-life balance.
  • Ownership/partnership opportunity for the right candidate.
  • Employee discount on services.
  • Structured mentorship — clinical and on the business side of practice.
A Word About Who We Are

The best medicine happens on teams where people trust each other and enjoy the work. We've built apractice where doctors are respected as professionals, where good ideas win regardless of who has them, and where growth is something we do together rather than something imposed from a boardroom threestate away. If that sounds like the kind of place you've been looking for, we'd love to meet you.
