Job summary

PetVet Care Centers in Avon, CT, is seeking a DVM or VMD Veterinarian to join Animal General, a full-service hospital. Flexible scheduling options include three- or four-day workweeks with no Saturdays, and a 40-hour compensation structure of $180,000–$200,000 plus production.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinarian with Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD).
• Current State Veterinary License in good standing.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical workups.
• Communicate with clients and educate on care plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on priorities.
• Monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds when possible and participate in training.
