Job summary

Large Animal Medical Associates seeks a part- or full-time associate to join a 3-doctor practice focusing on horses, with some small ruminant/camelid clients. The role covers preventive and internal medicine, dentistry, lameness, reproduction, and adjunct therapies.

Ambulatory care is primary; in-house procedures and on-call duties are shared among doctors. Vermont licensure and equine experience are required.

Qualifications

• DVM degree in good standing.
• Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in Vermont.
• At least one year of equine experience or completion of an equine internship.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, lameness, reproduction, acupuncture, and chiropractic care for equine patients.
• Perform ambulatory care and, when necessary, haul‑in patients for in‑house procedures.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, digital ultrasound, power dental equipment, video endoscopy, PRP, shockwave, and an in‑house CBC/blood chemistry machine.
• Collaborate with a tight‑knit team, maintain excellent communication, and support colleagues.
• Occasionally assist with on‑call duties shared equally among doctors.
