Job description

Associate Veterinarian | $150,000–$200,000 | AAHA-Accredited Hospital | Advanced Medicine & Surgery, Pleasantville, NY

Are you a Veterinarian looking for an opportunity to practise high-quality medicine, work with exceptional diagnostic equipment, and enjoy a genuinely varied and interesting caseload?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its experienced and collaborative team.

Offering a salary of $150,000–$200,000, this opportunity combines the welcoming atmosphere of a community-focused practice with advanced clinical capabilities more commonly associated with larger referral hospitals.

With an on-site CT scanner, laparoscopic surgery, advanced diagnostic imaging, and opportunities to treat both companion animals and exotic pets, this is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian looking to develop their clinical skills and enjoy greater variety in their working day.

The Opportunity:

You'll be joining an established, multi-doctor veterinary hospital with a loyal client base, experienced support team, and strong reputation for delivering exceptional patient care.

The practice offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and preventative services, with access to advanced equipment and board-certified specialists.

Whether your interests lie in general practice, surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, or exotic animal care, you'll have the opportunity to pursue your clinical interests in a supportive and well-equipped environment.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Deliver high-quality preventative, medical, and surgical care to companion animals.
  • Manage a varied caseload, from routine wellness appointments to complex medical and surgical cases.
  • Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment, including CT, ultrasound, and digital radiography.
  • Perform routine surgical procedures, with opportunities to develop advanced surgical skills.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through excellent communication and education.
  • Collaborate with experienced colleagues and board-certified specialists.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and patient-focused hospital culture.
  • Pursue professional development and expand your clinical interests.
About You:

We're interested in speaking with veterinarians who have:

  • A DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary qualification.
  • Current veterinary licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Confidence managing a varied small animal caseload.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship-building abilities.
  • A compassionate, collaborative, and team-oriented approach.
  • A genuine passion for high-quality veterinary medicine.
  • An interest in continuing education and professional development.

An interest in surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, or exotic animal medicine would be particularly welcome.

Previous exotic animal or advanced surgical experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Veterinarians with a primarily canine and feline background are equally encouraged to apply.

What's on Offer?
Compensation & Clinical Benefits:
  • Established, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital.
  • Experienced, multi-doctor veterinary team.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and surgical facilities.
  • On-site CT scanner.
  • Advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical capabilities.
  • Digital radiography and digital dental X-rays.
  • Ultrasound and comprehensive in-house laboratory.
  • Surgical laser technology.
  • Access to board-certified specialists.
  • Opportunities to work with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and exotic pets.
  • Varied medical and surgical caseload.
  • Continuing education and professional development opportunities.
You’ll have access to equipment and services including:
  • CT imaging: Advanced diagnostic capabilities supporting complex medical cases and patients of different sizes and species.
  • Laparoscopic surgery: Opportunities to work with minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic spays, gastropexy, biopsies, and other advanced techniques.
  • Advanced dentistry: Digital dental radiography and comprehensive dental treatment capabilities.
  • Diagnostic imaging: Digital radiography, ultrasound, and extensive in-house laboratory testing.
  • Specialist collaboration: Access to board-certified professionals in internal medicine, cardiology, and surgery.

The practice also offers opportunities to gain exposure to exotic animal medicine, including birds, reptiles, and small mammals, making this an especially attractive position for veterinarians seeking clinical variety.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This isn't your typical general practice position.

You'll have the opportunity to enjoy the relationships and continuity of care associated with a community veterinary hospital while benefiting from advanced diagnostic technology, sophisticated surgical capabilities, and access to specialist expertise.

The combination of a competitive salary, experienced colleagues, modern equipment, and a diverse caseload makes this an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian looking to take the next step in their career.

Whether you're passionate about small animal medicine, keen to develop your surgical abilities, or interested in expanding into exotic animal care, this practice offers the facilities and support to help you achieve your professional goals.
