Associate Veterinarian – Thrive Pet Healthcare

Join the team at the Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital, a small animal practice focused on routine care, diagnostics, and occasional emergency services. Sign‑on or relocation bonus available.

Position Summary

This role delivers reliable medical care to pets for their entire lives, from preventive check‑ups to treatment of illnesses and provides the first point of contact when something feels off. You will collaborate with a committed team and maintain thriving client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive veterinary care, including routine check‑ups, vaccinations, and preventive visits.
  • Perform diagnostics such as blood, urine, fecal testing, and imaging (radiology, ultrasound, dental radiology).
  • Assist with and, when needed, lead surgical procedures performed in the full surgical suite.
  • Communicate clearly with pet owners about health concerns, treatment plans, and preventive advice.
  • Participate in mentorship and continuous education within Thrive’s Medical Excellence and Education Department.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Build and nurture long‑term client relationships, becoming the first point of contact when something feels wrong.
