Animal Urgent Care of Hernando County is looking for a full or part-time Associate Veterinarian. We are an independently owned and operated urgent care clinic in Spring Hill, Florida. We are set up to exclusively see urgent care cases on a same-day basis only, Wednesday-Sunday between 3pm-10pm and are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Our ideal candidate is open to working their choice of four days per week (7-hour workdays). The average patient load is between 5-10 cases per night, with the help of 3-4 qualified veterinary technicians and assistants. We are also open to candidates that may want only 1-2 days per week.

We are a brand new, privately owned veterinary urgent care in Spring Hill, Florida (opened August 2024). We are not bound by unrealistic corporate expectations, which allow us to focus on patient care, but not to the detriment of the clinical team. We maintain a manageable case flow, ensuring personalized care and top-notch medicine.

As an urgent care clinic, our goal is to get the patient feeling as best as possible to follow up with their RDVM, or stable enough to transfer to an emergency hospital for more comprehensive care. We know our role in the community is to take strain off the GP vet clinics, and the E.R. so that pets get the care they need.

Qualifications:

• Completion of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, OR BVMS) from an AVMA-accredited veterinary program or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program
• Active State of Florida DBPR Veterinary Medicine license, in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure in Florida prior to start date.
• 2 (+) years of applicable work experience in urgent care or emergency care, post-graduation as a practicing veterinarian.
• Current DEA license, in good standing
• Capable of walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, stooping, standing, and reaching consistently during the workday
• Strong communication skills
