Role Description The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals in an on-site clinical environment in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, recommending preventive care plans, and overseeing routine procedures such as vaccinations and wellness visits. The role also involves communicating treatment options to clients, creating clear medical records, collaborating with veterinary technicians and support staff, and ensuring high standards of patient safety and comfort. The Associate Veterinarian will participate in case discussions, contribute to practice protocols, and support client education on pet health and behavior. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on delivering consistent, high-quality veterinary care and positive experiences for clients and patients.
Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution and eligibility for California veterinary licensure.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in small animal medicine, surgery, and preventive care, including performing examinations, diagnostics, and routine procedures.
  • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain medical information clearly and support informed decision-making.

  • Experience in a small animal general practice or similar clinical setting is preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training are also encouraged to apply.
