Job summary

VCA North Portland Veterinary Hospital in Portland, OR is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a team delivering world‑class medicine for dogs and cats. You will provide high‑quality clinical care, uphold the veterinary code of ethics, and collaborate with colleagues in a supportive, technology‑driven environment.

This full‑time role offers four 10‑hour shifts, opportunities to mentor others, and a focus on fear‑free practices.

Qualifications

  • DVM degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in Oregon, or ability to obtain.
  • Commitment to world-class medicine and veterinary ethics.

Schedule
  • Full‑time schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am – 7pm (four 10‑hour shifts, charting time built into the schedule, and a dedicated lunch hour).
Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality clinical care to small animal patients (dogs and cats).
  • Practice the highest standard of medicine and uphold the veterinary code of ethics.
  • Implement fear‑free practices and maintain hands‑free radiology safety standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, mentor others, and engage in continuous learning.
Qualifications
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in Oregon state, or the ability to obtain such a license.
  • A commitment to practicing world‑class medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
