Job Description/Overview:

The Associate Veterinarian plays a vital role in caring for our patients by providing high-quality medical, surgical, and dental services. They also support and guide our medical team. In addition to clinical duties, they may participate in leadership and management activities such as reviewing practice metrics, supporting business growth, fostering team learning, creating a positive workplace, and contributing to marketing efforts alongside Partner Doctors and Pod (multiple hospital) Owners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Live and exemplify the PetVet365 Purpose, Mission, and Vision within self and team.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and clients following Fear Free principles.
  • Perform medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
  • Interpret laboratory results, radiographs, and EKGs; prescribe medications.
  • Update client records promptly and accurately.
  • Engage in ongoing medical education.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, presenting treatment options.
  • Promote a client-centered environment.
  • Develop new programs and processes to meet evolving client needs.
  • Supervise veterinary technicians, assessing skills and planning their growth.
  • Deliver in-house medical training to the team.
  • Work toward and meet practice productivity standards.
  • Review key performance indicators with the Partner Doctor and Pod Owner, and implement improvement plans.
  • Assist in business development and growth strategies.
  • Participate in community outreach, veterinary activities, and social media marketing.
  • Communicate objectives, motivate staff, and maintain morale, upholding core values and standards.
  • Foster a cooperative team environment and promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree required in current state.
  • Experience as a D.V.M. preferred but not required.
  • Fear Free Certification required (training and certification provided).
  • Ability to lift 40+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
