Associate Veterinarian (Full-Time / AAHA Accredited Practice) - Roscommon, MI

Roscommon Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our growing practice. Newly graduated veterinarians, including upcoming Class of 2025 graduates, are strongly encouraged to apply! Responsibilities / Qualifications

How you'll make an impact:

  • Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
  • Diagnose, perform surgery, and treat patients.
  • Maintain excellent client communication.
  • Accurately record all pertinent medical, client, and case-related information.
  • Review medical records, estimates, or discharge instructions with clients.
  • Follow up with clients and discuss results.
  • Establish standards of care and protocols for medical and surgical procedures.
  • Promote practice growth and review financial reports.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with the practice manager on administrative tasks.
  • Handle clients with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Mentor team members for career and personal development.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for the training program.
  • Guide support staff to ensure smooth shift flow.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead and set a vision for the team.
  • Proficiency in performing basic surgeries and using standard medical instruments and equipment.
  • Skills in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing procedures.
  • Patience and composure in stressful situations and ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Calmness and efficiency during medical crises.
  • Skill in giving SQ, IM, and IV injections.
  • Knowledge of drug usage, dosage, side effects, and client communication.
  • Understanding of anesthesia, recovery, and monitoring hospitalized patients.
  • Ability to properly extubate, monitor temperature, and recover patients from anesthesia.
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking, and in using practice management software.
