Kona Veterinary Service in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, is expanding our veterinary team. We are a full-service, small animal hospital seeking qualified veterinarians for either full- or part-time positions with a rotating Saturday shift and on-call duties.
We offer after-hours screening by Guardian Vets and provide additional compensation for emergencies. Our team uses in-house CBC, radiography, ultrasound and more to deliver high-quality care.
Kona Veterinary Service has two locations on the beautiful big island of Hawaii. Our original location in Kailua Kona and our newest location in Waikoloa Village (Waikoloa Veterinary Service). We are a full service five doctor small animal hospital that offers our community high quality medical, surgical, emergency, and preventative care. Currently, we are seeking to expand our veterinary team and accepting resumes for full or part time veterinarians.
Our full-time schedule consists of 4 weekdays and one rotating Saturday shift (currently one Saturday per month). We utilize Guardian Vets to answer and screen all after hours calls prior to contacting our doctor on call and we limit our on call doctor availability to our current clients only. Our doctors are on call one weekday night and the rotating weekend on which they were scheduled. Additional compensation is paid for emergencies seen during on call hours.
Our in-house equipment and technology includes digital radiography (including dental), ultrasound, complete CBC/chem equipment, Cellfie in-house pathology, SignalPET AI radiographic interpretation, VitalRads for radiologist consults, and ScribbleVet for efficient records. We strive to allow our doctors to provide the highest quality care by upgrading and adding to our in-house diagnostic capabilities as new technology becomes available.
Qualified applicants must have DVM or equivalent and be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the US. Previous experience working in fast paced small animal practice preferred. New graduates with work experience considered.
