Job description

Licensed Associate Veterinarian wanted full time and/or part time for an independently owned small animal practice in Hilliard, Ohio. We have been providing excellent service to the area for 38 years.

Our facility has recently been remodeled to provide a homey, comfortable experience. Desiring a personable, detailed, team-oriented self-starter that practices high quality medicine and especially enjoys client communication.

Our business model is that of longer appointment times, ranging from 30 to 60 minutes. This allows time for the doctor to perform complete workups and then time to discuss their diagnostics and treatment plan. Education of the client is valued, along with long term relationship building. We maximized doctor support with an extremely attentive veterinary staff. Doctors are paired with a veterinary assistant in outpatient, and a RVT during in-patient surgical/dental procedures. Additional staff is available to support our team. We’re a very professional group, yet has a relaxed fun culture.

EHVS has a regular pocket pet clientele, currently served by a tenured associate. Special interest in developing more skill sets in exotic medicine would be a plus.

EHVS also includes a referral dental practice that has been serving Ohio and nearby states for many decades. Having an interest in veterinary dentistry would also be a plus, with the ability to be mentored towards advanced dental skill sets.

We provide a 4 to 4 ½ day work week, with 1 day off during the week. One of the above days would include a 10-8pm shift. During the work day, we provide a 2-hour window midday for doctors to for a lunch break, to complete medical records, to authorize prescriptions and to make phone calls. Saturday hours are 8am to Noon, one to 2x per month.

Doctors rotate through the week with a phone on-call until 10pm exclusively for our clientele. This service is used primarily to have a doctor available to help triage client’s concerns of stability. Decisions are to assist clients if their pet should be sent to urgent care or ER for acute medical care.

EHVS has a fully equipped laboratory with Heska in house machines. Along with next day results from outside labs (Idexx and Antech). We have digital xray and dental x-ray equipment.

EHVS utilizes the services of a mobile boarded internal medicine specialist for ultrasound procedures and consults.
