- VCA Mont Clare Animal Hospital, located on the northwest side of Chicago, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join our team in a community-focused general practice.
- Our hospital has served the Mont Clare neighborhood since the 1970s and prides itself on its strong roots and "hometown" feel. With a team of 12 staff members and two full-time doctors, we foster a warm and collaborative culture. One of our current DVMs will be reducing their hours in December, and we are proactively seeking an
- Associate Veterinarian—either full-time or part-time—to help us continue offering exceptional care.
- We are nestled right on the edge of the city, offering the perfect blend of urban and suburban life. Our clients come from nearby neighborhoods such as Elmwood Park, River Grove, Norridge, Belmont Cragin, Forest Park, and Oak Park. We regularly work with pet adopters from PAWS Chicago, Anti-Cruelty Society, and the Animal Care League in Oak Park, and we’re easily accessible via CTA and Metra.

Schedule
- We are open Monday–Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (closed Sundays).A full-time schedule would likely fall between 30–35 hours/week
- Our most needed coverage days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
- DVMs typically have 1–2 surgery days per week
- At least one Saturday off per month is built into the schedule
- We’re open to both full-time and part-time candidates, with flexibility to support your ideal work-life balance
Cases
- As a general practice hospital, we currently see cats and dogs, but are open to expanding to exotics if a candidate has experience. We are also open to welcoming a doctor with orthopedic surgery skills.

- Soft tissue surgery (spay, neuter, pyometra, cystotomy, mass removal)
- Dental cleanings
- Hands-free digital radiology
- In-house and reference lab diagnostics
- Preventive care, sick visits, and vaccinations
- Mobile ultrasound access (with in-house fast scans offered by our Medical Director)

Total Rewards
As a VCA Associate, eligible full-time employees will be rewarded with a comprehensive package, including:
Compensation
- Salary is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other relevant credentials. The annual salary range for this position is $77,000 to 160,000.
- Salary range listed is based on a 24-40 hour work week.
- This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.

Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent
- Licensure in good standing to practice in (IL), or the ability to obtain
- A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
