Job summary

CRC Group is seeking an Associate Underwriting Team Leader with a strong background in underwriting across multiple lines. This remote role supports a Pennsylvania-based team while coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure disciplined risk selection and policy execution.

The ideal candidate will balance individual underwriting responsibility with leadership, guide less experienced underwriters, and help drive portfolio performance within established standards and authority

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant insurance designation preferred.
  • Experience underWRiting multi-line or specialty products.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority.
  • Manage underwriting workflow through full lifecycle: submissions, binding, servicing, documentation.
  • Monitor production metrics (retention, spread of risk, performance) to support portfolio quality.
  • Review and resolve underwriting issues, including inspections and coverage changes.
  • Collaborate with producers, agents and internal teams for timely decisions.
  • Provide leadership and coordination across underwriting teams and ensure policy adherence.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced underwriters with technical guidance.

This role underwrites new and renewal business, provides technical expertise, and supports the coordination and development of underwriting teams. The core function of this role centers on balancing individual underwriting responsibility with team leadership, ensuring consistent execution, compliance, and alignment with organizational underwriting standards.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.
