Arch Insurance Group Inc. in Chicago seeks an Associate Underwriter for the Early Career Program, a one-year training track designed for ambitious graduates pursuing a career in underwriting.

The role involves marketing to brokers, underwriting and pricing, with training on financial and exposure analysis, policy review and claims; you'll support binding and servicing. The program begins in early 2027 (start between January–June 2027) with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 from home) and

Qualifications

• Recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance & Risk Management, Business, Liberal Arts, Communications, Psychology, Finance, or relevant degree.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical, with keen ability to think through issues.
• Proactive; able to organize and prioritize to meet multiple demands and commitments.
• Strong work ethic; team player; exhibits leadership potential.

Responsibilities

• Marketing Arch products and services to wholesale and retail brokers.
• Underwriting and pricing products, including financial analysis.
• Exposure analysis.
• Policy contract review and rating.
• Claims review.
• Binding new and renewal accounts according to our underwriting philosophy and strategy.
• Servicing our brokers and customers.
