Description

Associate Transplant Coordinator - Kidney Acquisition - Weill Cornell Medical Center
Associate Transplant Coordinator partners with Transplant Coordinators (RN) and other clinical staff to facilitate comprehensive care and treatment specific to transplant patients and donors. Utilizes thorough knowledge of both transplant donor and recipient treatment plans to guide patients in all administrative components associated with the Transplant process. Position includes direct contact and communication with patient, in person, on telephone or via e-mail and contact with donor/organ procurement organizations.

This position is located at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The hours are from 9am to 5pm.

Responsibilities

Associate Transplant Coordinator partners with Transplant Coordinators (RN) and other clinical staff to facilitate comprehensive care and treatment specific to transplant patients and donors. Utilizes knowledge of transplant donor and recipient treatment plans to guide patients in all administrative components of the transplant process. Maintain direct contact with patients and donors via in-person, phone, and email communications and coordinate with organ procurement organizations as needed.

Qualifications

Preferred Criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • EPIC knowledge
  • Transplant work experience

Required Criteria:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge in Medical Terminology
  • Administrative experience in a clinic setting
  • Knowledge of third party insurances, government programs and other insurance agencies for purposes of obtaining any necessary authorizations for treatment
