Job summary

Asplundh Engineering Services has an immediate opening for an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to join our team in the Southeast.

Develop PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole models for new and existing transmission line designs, with PLS-Tower experience a plus. This role requires site visits, coordination with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to prepare estimates and bid drawings. A PE or EIT is preferred, with strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering.
  • Competency in the use of PLS software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a proven commitment to safety and customer service.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, have access to a car, and be comfortable entering transmission line ROWs and line construction sites with proper training and PPE.
  • Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole models for lines and analyses; PLS-Tower experience is a plus.
  • Attend site visits for line inventory, hard spot identification, and construction coordination.
  • Generate line studies, project estimates, material and pole orders, bid drawings, and as‑built closeout documents.
  • Coordinate with construction, environmental, real estate, permitting teams; foundation design experience is a bonus.
  • Meet with clients and partners to strengthen relationships and share project progress.
  • Advise and review work; ensure quality control on deliverables.
  • Assist in preparing proposals with cost estimates and scheduling.
  • Learn from and contribute to other Power Delivery groups.

Salary Range: USD $80,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 (Annually)

Asplundh Engineering Services has an immediate opening for an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to join our team in the Southeast.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Develop PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole models for new and existing transmission line designs and analyses, PLS-Tower experience a plus.
  • Attend and complete site visits for line inventory, hard spot identification, and construction coordination.
  • Generate existing line studies, new project estimates, material and pole orders, construction bid specifications and drawings, and as-built closeout documents.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Competency in the use of PLS software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a proven commitment to safety and customer service

  • Professional Engineering license or E.I.T. strongly preferred.
  • Strong PLS-CADD experience required.
