Apply now and energize your career with a true leader in global energy.We´re looking for a transmission Line Engineer to join our team:The Transmission Line Design Engineer is responsible for the engineering and design requirements for new and existing transmission lines throughout the AES-Ohio system including: preparation of specifications, evaluations of proposals, design of physical line routing layouts and support systems, assisting in procuring R-O-W through private property, working with LIDAR data scans, and coordinating with construction management and field crews. The engineer will provide support for projects of various complexities and assist with project documentation procedures. Additionally, the engineer will be expected to respond to emergencies including long duration customer outages and storm service restoration. All levels of Engineers will be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform specific assignments by learning and applying effective engineering, planning and organizational skillsPerform engineering calculations of transmission line support systemsAssist in the planning, design, and construction management of transmission line projectsAssist more experienced engineers in root cause failure analysis to avoid future failuresWork under supervision of experienced engineers, receiving guidance in the use of AES engineering and construction standards as well as utility industry nomenclature and guidelinesAssist in maintaining transmission design standards and information systemsAssist Storm Teams and System Operating to re-energize transmission lines, substation feeders and restore service to customersComplete assigned special projects including research, analysis and recommendations to ManagementPerform other work as assigned by ManagerWork with suppliers to procure transmission line structures and equipmentWork with T&D Planning to implement proposed transmission line improvementsConsult with Contractors, Line Maintenance groups and other technical groups to provide field construction supportAdvise System Operating on new transmission system functions/capabilitiesProvide Purchasing with Vendor qualifications and recommended spendAssist Property Accounting with project close out and units of property classification on new transmission equipmentRequired QualificationsBachelors of Science in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering Required - all experience levels will be consideredFluently communicate technical knowledge with other EngineersProvide related information to non-technical coworkersUnderstand relevant terms and exchange information with other support areas including Project Management, System Operating, Plant Accounting, T&D Planning, Test Department, Sub Services and Major Account RepsMust be able to effectively present facts based on knowledge or research and champion assignments to conclusionAES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion.
