Job summary

SCS Financial is seeking a Trading Associate to join our team, focusing on execution across client accounts and supporting daily workflows. You will work closely with the Trading team to manage cash, rebalancing, and follow-up tasks while leveraging RedBlack and Salesforce for portfolio management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in financial services, investment operations, trading support, or a related role preferred; entry-level candidates with strong relevant coursework or internship experience may also be considered.
  • Interest in trading, portfolio operations, financial markets, and investment management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to work accurately with financial data.
  • Working knowledge of Python; experience with VBA or Power Automate is a plus.
  • Experience with trading, portfolio accounting, CRM, or custodial technology platforms is helpful but not required.
  • Experience with equity, mutual fund, or fixed income trading and familiarity with Fidelity Institutional or Charles Schwab Institutional is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, manage recurring deadlines, and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with building, executing, and allocating trades across client accounts and custodial platforms, including equities, mutual funds, and other approved investment vehicles.
  • Monitor daily trading workflows, queues, and task lists to help ensure timely and accurate completion of trading activity.
  • Research and help resolve trade, position, and cash breaks in coordination with Trading, Operations, Advisors, custodians, and executing brokers.
  • Assist with maintaining client accounts within rebalancing software, including setup, target updates, and running rebalancing tools.
  • Support portfolio maintenance activities, including rebalancing, cash reviews, tax-loss harvesting, and identification of portfolios requiring review.
  • Support cash management workflows by reviewing cash balances, contributions, distributions, pending cash needs, and coordinating follow-up with advisory and operations teams.
  • Use the firm's trading and CRM platforms, including RedBlack and Salesforce, to support daily trading and portfolio management activities.
  • Adhere to trading procedures, compliance requirements, and established operating best practices.
  • Complete additional ad hoc assignments accurately and on time while providing appropriate updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of automation solutions for the trading team using Python, Visual Basic, and/or Power Automate.

This position is an exempt position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $60,000–$80,000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k). Please note that the job title is subject to change based on the selected candidate’s experience and education.
