Job summary

Deutsche Bank in New York, NY is seeking an Associate Trader for the CMO Derivatives Desk. The role offers hands-on exposure to mortgage derivatives, trade execution, risk management, and desk strategy development.

You will work with senior traders on idea generation and customer engagement, develop trading tools, and leverage Python and Excel/VBA to automate processes. Hybrid work model applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science.
• Proficient experience in securitized products or fixed income.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an interest in mortgage markets.
• Familiarity with Python and Excel/VBA.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for a fast-paced trading environment.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity while applying ethical data use.

Responsibilities

• Support trade execution, risk management, and P&L reporting for the CMO Derivatives desk.
• Analyze market trends, prepayment dynamics, customer flows and relative value opportunities.
• Develop and maintain trading tools, analytics, and process automation using Python and Excel/VBA.
• Partner with risk, operations, technology, and compliance teams to support desk operations.
