Job summary

ING Financial Services LLC seeks a credit professional to lead end-to-end execution of transactions for its TCF team in Houston, supporting energy, metals, and agricultural/soft sectors. The role involve onboarding, credit approval, and deal closing, with strong focus on financial analysis, risk assessment, and cross-team collaboration.

Candidates should have 3–4 years of relevant experience, BA/BS in finance or related field, and proficiency in MS Excel/Word.

  • Serve as primary contact for internal stakeholders during transaction execution and timelines management.
  • Prepare client meetings, briefing memos, call notes and follow-ups.
  • Prepare PowerPoint decks for client pitches and internal presentations.
  • Manage daily operations of the portfolio, monitor credit migration trends and covenants.
  • Maintain internal databases/trackers for the Houston portfolio and respond to ad hoc requests.

Overview

The Associate will be part of ING’s TCF team in Houston, supporting physical commodity traders across energy, metals, and agricultural/soft with financing and advisory needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to‑end execution of transactions (new onboardings, refinancings, amendments, annual reviews, etc) from client onboarding (where applicable) through credit approval and deal closing.
  • Prepare and present transactions for commercial approval (run return models, rating, prepare memos to seek internal supports, complete financial and collateral analysis, prepare market updates, etc).
  • Coordinate and prepare all elements of the credit approval process, including financial analysis, credit memos and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, product partners, legal and risk teams to ensure alignment and timely execution.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders during transaction execution, addressing issues and managing timelines.
  • Prepare client meetings (briefing memos, call notes, follow‑ups).
  • Prepare Power Point decks for client pitches and internal presentations.
  • Prepare and execute receivable discounting transactions and prepare limit approval proposals for Risk.
  • Prepare and maintain marketing materials, aid in prospecting, and identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Actively manage all facets of the daily operations of the identified portfolio, including but not limited to: routinely analyze the credit migration trends of the portfolio and individual names; track compliance of financial covenants and other reporting covenants; review annual risk rating updates prepared by an administrative support team; maintain internal databases/trackers for the TCF Houston portfolio; maintain internal portfolio tracking metrics for the TCF Houston portfolio; respond to ad hoc internal requests on portfolio composition and exposure; coordinate and work with offshore portfolio support teams.
  • Responsible for the accurate internal system processing (Vantage / CLO) including GRID, FINAN, TSC, Risk Rater; stay up‑to‑date on organizational operating policies and procedures (i.e. Risk, Legal, etc.) to ensure appropriate protocols are implemented and followed, and facilitate accordingly.
  • Coordinate with KYC/CDD team.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • BA/BS in finance, economics, accounting (or similar).
  • Minimum of 3‑4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve the way the team works.
  • Self‑motivated and willing to work in a deal‑oriented and deadline‑driven environment.
  • Experience taking internal credit approval processes from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of legal documentation.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $130,000–$175,000. The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program. In addition to comprehensive health benefits, a generous 401(k) savings plan, and competitive PTO, ING provides a broad array of benefits including adoption, surrogacy, and fertility services; student debt assistance; and subsidies for expenses associated with commuting and fitness.
