Job summary

TTI, Inc. is seeking an Associate Quality Engineer to support quality functions in distribution and assembly.

You will assist the Total Quality Engineer staff with customer and supplier interactions, recalls, and CARs, while leading internal process-improvement projects to aid audits. You will work with QA colleagues to collect data, resolve problems, and communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in customer facing, problem solving positions preferred.
  • Experience applying quality standards such as ISO9001, AS9100, IATF16949 and military standards is helpful.
  • Experience and knowledge applying quality system requirements including RCCA, 5 Why’s, PFMEA, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and vet non-conformances; coordinate containment and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with sales and manufacturers for recall-related actions and authorizations.

Job description

The Associate Quality Engineer’s primary responsibility encompasses the Quality related functions of the distribution and assembly sectors of our business. Responsibilities include assisting the Total Quality Engineer staff with customer and supplier interactions; assisting with recalls; and customer, supplier and internal CAR’s. The Associate QE also leads projects to improve internal processes to help prepare personnel for audits.

Our Associate Total Quality Engineers Team:
  • Receive and vet notification of non-conformances from the field.
  • Coordinate with Sales to validate the reported non-conformances
  • Coordinates or reviews actions to ensure that Containment is rapid and effective
  • Request return authorizations from manufacturers including the gathering and communicating of all the relevant information required for authorizations.
  • Organize reported information into clear and descriptive problem statements to request Corrective Action Reports.
  • Provide thorough, timely and effective Corrective Action (CA) responses to customers by requesting them from manufacturers, monitoring progress, evaluating the responses and working with the responder if insufficient.
  • Processes recall notifications by gathering appropriate sales histories and identifying impacted shipments, preparing customer facing letters and distributing to the sales force.
  • Reviews Open RDR’s, reports on aging and works with Corporate Product to resolve old outstanding items.
  • Works alongside Quality Engineers to aid in data collection, problem resolution and customer communications.
  • Coordinates supplier and internal teams to resolve specific customer problems. Facilitates meetings, develops action items and schedules, and professionally follows up to ensure their completion.
  • Proactively identifies and leads medium sized (3-4 month) initiatives to improve processes in other TTI departments using 6 sigma and lean methodologies
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g. business, mathematics, engineering, quality) strongly preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in customer facing, problem solving positions is preferred
  • Previous RCCA, LSS/DMAIC experience is preferred.
  • Application of quality standards such as ISO9001, AS9100, IATF16949 and military standards is helpful.
  • Experience and knowledge applying the principles of quality system requirements including Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities through a combination of data driven analysis and applied Quality Engineering knowledge. (5 Why’s, PFMEA, etc.)
  • Ability to devise sampling procedures and process designs with required forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
