Job summary

Sanctuary Treatment Center in the San Fernando Valley is seeking an Associate Therapist to join our detox and residential program. The therapist will carry a diverse caseload and provide individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, and aftercare planning.

The role includes supervision and mentorship to support professional growth and ensure high-quality client care. A Master’s degree and CA licensure/registration are required, with experience in substance use and mental health

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or psychology.
• Registered with California Board of Behavioral Health as AMFT, APCC, or ACSW with number.
• Experience with substance use and mental health in a treatment center preferred.
• Able to maintain a professional manner with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual, group, and family therapy and discuss coping skills.
• Perform psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans; handle intake processes.
• Collaborate with the clinical team including the director and counselors.
• Provide effective crisis management and intervention.
• Document progress and provide service referrals; maintain professional boundaries.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Sanctuary Treatment Center is a detox and residential substance use treatment facility for adults located in the San Fernando Valley. We are currently hiring an Associate Therapist! Join Sanctuary's dedicated team as an Associate Therapist at our substance use treatment center that embraces a nurturing home-like atmosphere. The Therapist carries a diverse caseload and provides comprehensive counseling and therapeutic services including individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, and after care planning. We offer regular supervision and mentorship to support your professional growth and ensure the highest quality of care for our clients.

Availability:

• Full Time Tuesday-Saturday

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for individual, group and family therapy sessions to discuss effective coping skills and assist clients in identifying the reasons for their addiction.
• Conducts client psychosocial assessment, develops and monitors the implementation of individualized treatment plans, carries out client intake process, and is available to solve any pertinent issues.
• Collaborates with treatment team comprised of clinical staff, including the clinical director, program director and counselors.
• Provide effective crisis management and intervention.
• Demonstrate an understanding of patient care through charting, documenting progress and provide service referrals when needed.
• Maintain professional boundaries and with all staff, clients, families and visitors.
• Perform any other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree from accredited social work, marriage and family therapy or psychology program.
• Registration with State of California Board of Behavioral Health as a registered associate (AMFT, APCC or ACSW) with number.
• Experience working with substance use and mental health, in a treatment center preferred.
• Able to maintain a professional manner with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Able to work in a fast paced setting under pressure and maintain open, and proper communication.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Good physical and mental health.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients and employees of an organization.
• Ability to relate harmoniously with staff and clients of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds.
