Job Summary

Provides supervised clinical social work services to adults, children, and families with emotional and/or social problems utilizing established psychotherapeutic techniques in both inpatient and outpatient settings; consults and collaborates with members of the patient's family and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct initial interviews with members to understand their complaints, symptoms, and history, under supervision and with licensed staff guidance when necessary.
  2. Provide members with a professional understanding of their presentation and recommend appropriate courses of action, such as therapy, counseling, or specific action plans.
  3. Offer clinical case management services to diverse age groups, selecting suitable treatment modalities in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  4. Render immediate guidance and therapeutic services during emotional crises or psychiatric emergencies.
  5. Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions, prepare reports, and communicate with social agencies, schools, relatives, and friends with patient consent to gather pertinent information.
  6. Provide telephone counseling, resource information, and referral services.
  7. Participate in departmental projects, CQI activities, and organizational development duties.
  8. Offer psycho-education to members within the context of prescribed treatments.
Qualifications
Education

Master of Social Work degree or related Behavioral Health Master's degree from an accredited institution.

Licenses and Certifications

California Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor.

Additional Requirements
  • Work a schedule that includes weekends and two evenings per week.
  • Work towards obtaining full licensure within 2.5 years of hire, with supervised hours counting towards licensure requirements.
