Job Description & Qualifications

While we currently do not have an opening, we are building our Associate Test Engineer Trainee talent community and are interested in your background. This role offers hands-on experience with optical systems, lasers, robotics, electrical, mechanical, supercomputers, software, and networks.

What You Will Learn:

  • Interpreting blueprints and diagrams
  • Data collection, logging, and interpretation for reports
  • Preparing technical reports
  • Handling moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment
  • Collaborating across teams in different locations

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with setup, calibration, testing of circuits, components, and mechanical assemblies
  • Assisting in selecting and setting up specialized test equipment
  • Handling complex assignments requiring independence and initiative
  • Performing simple troubleshooting as needed

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a clean room environment
  • Availability to work 40 hours/week in summer and at least 20 hours/week during the school year
  • Basic understanding of optics, mechanical, and electrical principles
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

Minimum Qualifications:

Less than 1 year of related experience required.
