As an Associate Test and Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development, execution, and validation of test systems for drive units and powertrain components. Based on your background and area of expertise, you will be assigned to specific sub-systems to lead or work on. You will assist in performance, durability, and environmental testing for electric vehicle (EV) drive units while collaborating closely with technicians to ensure smooth test cell uptime and continuous test execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development and optimization of automated test systems for EV drive units and powertrain components.
  2. Support performance, durability, and environmental tests, ensuring tests are executed on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Work closely with technicians to maintain test cell uptime and minimize downtime, ensuring smooth test execution.
  4. Contribute to the management of Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and environmental testing for EV drive units.
  5. Assist in the creation of test plans and procedures to validate that hardware meets required specifications.
  6. Provide basic analysis of test data and contribute to the generation of test reports.
  7. Help maintain calibration schedules and ensure all testing equipment is in proper working order.
  8. Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot test anomalies and identify solutions.
  9. Collaborate with data acquisition and control systems to ensure reliable data collection.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Basic experience with test automation, data analysis, or powertrain testing tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW).
  3. Strong interest in automotive testing and the ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  4. Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  5. Strong communication skills, particularly with technicians and senior engineers.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
