Job summary

Kidango is seeking an Associate Teacher to support teachers and center leadership in delivering high-quality early education. You will assist with daily programming, classroom setup, and health and safety duties while maintaining strong communication with families.

You will contribute to a nurturing environment, supervise aides and volunteers, and participate in ongoing professional growth. This role requires an active associate teacher permit and appropriate health and safety training.

Qualifications

• Unexpired Associate Teacher Permit from the Department of Education is required.
• 1 year of prior experience with young children preferred.
• Infant/Toddler units (3 or 6) required to be an Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher.
• Immunization records compliant with SB 792 are required.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• Health and safety training (16 hours) including 1 hour nutrition training.
• Mandated abuse reporter is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparing and implementing daily program.
• Assist in planning and preparing learning environment and materials.
• Perform primary care giving responsibilities.
• Maintain the environment in a clean, safe manner.
• Communicate with parents including conferences and chats.
• Supervise Teacher Aides, Substitute Teachers and Volunteers as requested.
• Assume responsibilities in absence of supervisor.
• Ensure health, safety and well-being of children in the agency.
• Prepare written reports as directed.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional growth activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of children, families and employees.
• Promote mission and philosophy as a team member.
• Greet children, parents, staff and guests as needed.
• Assist other centers when requested.
• All other duties as assigned.

About The Role

The Associate Teacher assists the Teacher, Master Teacher, or Center Director and assumes responsibility for general supervision, development and education of children.

• All other duties as assigned by Master Teacher or Center Director.

Preferred qualifications

• Unexpired Associate Teacher Permit from the Department of Education required
• 1 year prior experience in working with young children preferred.
• 3 or 6 Infant/Toddler units to be an Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher required
• Immunization records that comply with Senate Bill 792 (immunity for measles, pertussis, and influenza)
• CPR/First Aid Training Certification required
• 16 hours of health and safety training which includes 1 hour of nutrition training
• Required to be a mandated abuse reporter

Compensation

$34.64—$34.64 USD

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a health screening and TB test
• Must pass background fingerprint clearance
• Valid Driver License
• Must be 18 years or older
• The ability to lift up to 30lbs may be needed during some job duties
• The employee will be required to use hands for computer work, answering phone calls, etc.
