Bank Street is seeking an Associate Teacher to support the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum. The role involves close supervision of children and collaboration with parents to foster understanding of their child's growth. Candidates should be pursuing or have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Under the direction of the teacher, the associate teacher will assist in implementing developmentally appropriate, child-centered curriculum which encourages learning through exploration and discovery and promotes the development of a positive self-image. The associate teacher will model positive social interactions and language. The associate teacher will implement positive class management techniques and strategies. All practices the associate teacher uses must be consistent with guidelines put forth by Bank Street College and the New York City Department of Health / Bureau of Day Care.
