Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston is seeking a highly analytical Associate for the Global Strategy & Capital Allocation team to drive and scale a $3.5bn Tax-Driven Investments mandate across TTC, RTE, and LIHTC. You will lead transactions with independence, coordinating with Tax, Legal, Risk, and Treasury to push deals from term sheet to close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 4–7 years’ experience in tax equity, renewable energy project finance, LIHTC investing, or similar.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with experience in financial modeling and document review.
• Familiarity with ITC/PTC mechanics and LIHTC structures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of investment diligence for TTC, RTE, and LIHTC, including financial modeling, technical and tax diligence, risk assessment, and memo prep.
• Own end-to-end structuring and negotiation of TTC, RTE, and LIHTC transactions; coordinate with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Risk.
• Manage active portfolios across closed positions, serving as primary contact with sellers, syndicators, and partners.
• Develop and deepen relationships with renewable energy developers and syndicators to generate deal flow and market intelligence.
• Collaborate with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and other investment teams to align work with broader goals and share knowledge.
