Job summary

S&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking an Operations Associate for the Agent Services team to administer lending portfolios and lifecycle events. You will interact with clients, borrowers and lenders, ensuring compliance with loan terms and accurate financial calculations.

You will collaborate across lines of business to drive progress of the regional operating model and support the global client base, while maintaining strong relationship management and data analysis skills.

  • Execute operational requirements to manage lifecycle events of syndicated loans.
  • Interpret underlying legal documents to ensure compliance with terms.
  • Respond to client, borrower and lender queries promptly.
  • Perform financial analysis of deals to ensure accruals and pricing accuracy.
  • Manage outstanding work items in line with KPIs.
  • Maintain high accuracy to minimize operational risk in the lending portfolio.
  • Support projects and other initiatives to enhance the Agent Services product offering.

The Team

The Agent Services team performs as a Syndicated Loans Agency operations resource for our client base, performing all operational tasks to support both the borrower and lenders. Acting as an agent is a varied and highly visible role requiring accuracy and understanding of complex deal mechanics.

Impact and Responsibilities

The Impact: S&P Global is seeking a motivated Operations Associate to work within the Agent Services team to administer the lending portfolios for our client base. The individual will be responsible for the lifecycle events of the deals, communicating with our clients, their borrowers and the lending syndicate members. Additional responsibilities include partnering with other S&P Global business lines to drive continued progress of the regions to support the global operating model and local client base.

Responsibilities
  • Executing the operational requirements to manage the lifecycle events of a syndicated loan
  • Interpreting the underlying legal documents to ensure the deal and its members are managed in compliance with the terms
  • Answering client, borrower and lender queries in a timely manner
  • Financial analysis of deals to ensure accruals and pricing mechanics are correct
  • Management of outstanding work items in line with expected Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Ensuring a high level of accuracy to minimize operational risk within the lending portfolio
  • Supporting projects and other business initiatives to help further the Agent Services product offering
Compensation/Benefits Information

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in client-facing role with building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering exceptional service.
  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, senior management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting team objectives and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for enhancement, and implement operational improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the syndicated loan trading process, including the review and interpretation of Assignment and Assumption Agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and validate loan-related calculations, including interest, fees, payment amounts, and imputed rate calculations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including the use of Pivot Tables for data analysis, reporting, and identifying trends or exceptions within large data sets.
  • Understanding of financial ratio calculations and their application within credit agreements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with syndicated loan platforms and market tools such as S&P Market Intelligence products, including WSO, iLEVEL, ClearPar, and DebtDomain.
  • Experience supporting agent-side syndicated loan operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of credit agreements, interest and fee processing, borrowings, paydowns, amendments, cash management, and related loan administration activities.
