Job description

Associate Surgical Technician at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro, CA. This position is Per-Diem and will work 8-hour variable shifts.

Role Overview

The Surgical Technician is a non-licensed healthcare employee who performs the surgical scrub role under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include reviewing preference lists, preparing supplies and instruments for procedures, performing surgical scrubs, supporting intra-operatively by anticipating the surgeon's needs, and managing instruments and equipment post-procedure.

Required Qualifications
  • Successfully completed training as a surgical technician at an accredited school.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) upon hire.
  • Recent acute care hospital clinical experience in the OR.
