Textron Systems is seeking an Associate Supply Chain Buyer to secure materials and manage supplier relations in support of manufacturing operations in Slidell, LA.

The role requires pursuing or completing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field, strong planning, and Excel proficiency, with the ability to coordinate priorities and communicate clearly with vendors and internal teams. This position also involves cost data support and delivery validation.

• Study market trends, interview vendors and recommend sources of supply.
• Solicit and analyze quotations to satisfy requirements.
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries and expedite as needed.
• Negotiate adjustments from price analysis, surplus, or cancellations.
• Obtain delivery confirmations and validate item deliveries; check invoice payments.
• Develop and maintain records for compliance; assist proposal cost data.

About This Role

• Purchase materials from supplies at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need
• Study market trends, interview vendors and recommends sources of supply
• Solicit and analyze quotations required to satisfy all the requirements of the authorizing source documentation
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries of quality products to maintain production, following up on orders to expedite shipment and delivery as needed
• Negotiate for any adjustments resulting from price analysis, discrepant materials, surplus or obsolete materials, contract terminations or a purchase order cancellation
• Obtain certifications of delivery and conduct item delivery validation. Check and improve payment of invoices
• Develop and maintain necessary records and files for compliance purposes. Support preparation of proposal cost data
• Preferred candidate will be knowledgeable in weld process, mechanical and custom fab.
• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
