Associate Structural Engineer

Reports To: Engineering Manager - Tyler Bowden

FLSA Status: Exempt

Compensation: Salary

Summary

Engineering and pricing of steel structures available under the Poligon and CEAS+ brands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Engineer steel structures in compliance with applicable building codes.
2. Design steel structures to meet customer specifications and Porter Corp standards.
3. Conceptualize and engineer steel structures using RISA-3D and other CAD software.
4. Create calculations reflecting the structural requirements for projects.
5. Review submittal and fabrication drawings for consistency with calculations.
6. Maintain project schedules and coordinate with drafting and production teams.
7. Use engineering knowledge and internal tools to develop pricing models.
8. Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
9. Participate actively in team environments.
10. Familiarize with company facilities, processes, policies, and products.
11. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
12. Perform other related duties as required.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• E.I.T. certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months.
• 0-5 years of experience in structural engineering.

Travel

Minimal to no travel required.

Computer Skills

• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Experience with EPICOR ERP or similar systems.

Other Requirements

• Familiarity with structural analysis software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and product development processes.
