Job summary

Parsons is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to join our Critical Infrastructure team in Atlanta. You will develop construction documents, plus perform geometric highway designs and grading plans using CAD tools.

The role emphasizes quality control, collaboration with CAD designers, and delivering reliable engineering solutions. The position requires a Civil Engineering degree, some related experience or internships, and an Engineer In Training certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Some related work experience or internships preferred.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Basic process engineering knowledge and CAD proficiency required.
• Strong written and verbal communication with engineers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction documents including drawings, specifications and estimates.
• Assist with geometric design of highways and roadways (horizontal/vertical alignment, cross sections, grading).
• Use design software and CAE/CAD tools to implement project designs.
• Develop QA procedures and ensure quality control across projects.
• Provide input to CAD Designers and other engineers working on the project.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Structural Engineer to join our team!

What You'll Be Doing:

• Complete numerous assignments for development of construction documents including drawings, specifications and estimates.

• Assist with development of geometric design of highways and roads including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, super-elevations diagrams, gore details, vertical clearance calculations and grading plans. May perform material quantity takeoffs, estimates and surveys.

• Use design software and CAE/CAD applications to implement project designs

• Develop and implement QA procedures to ensure quality control performed by others is properly implemented throughout the program and assigned project.

• Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and other Engineers working on the same project.

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate both written and orally with other engineers and clients is required.

Salary Range: $26.59 - $46.54
