Join DPR Construction as an Associate Structural Designer in Columbia, MD. You will assist in producing drawings, specifications and calculations across design phases, under close supervision, and help develop structural models for multiple building types.

Work with engineers and detailers to deliver accurate 2D/3D models using Tekla Structures and standard CAD tools, contributing to on-schedule project delivery while adhering to codes and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a structural focus or equivalent experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • No experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production of drawings, specifications and calculations from design through construction documents under close supervision.
  • Develop structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials with guidance from team members.
  • Collaborate with engineers, modelers and detailers to produce 2D and 3D models using CAD tools including Tekla Structures.

Assist in developing structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials and perform calculations and analyses using basic knowledge of common codes with guidance from team members. Collaborate with engineers, modelers, and detailers to produce accurate 2D and 3D models using CAD tools, including Tekla Structures, and deliver coordinated, high-quality design solutions within budget and schedule. Support construction administration activities by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and participating in site visits as directed.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the production of drawings, specifications, and calculations, with tasks that are specific and clearly outlined, during a project’s design phase life cycle from conceptual design to completion of construction documents under close supervision and coordination with managers.Assist in the development of structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials using basic knowledge of common codes, with assistance provided by other team members.Supports construction administration activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.Utilize basic knowledge of CAD software, including Tekla Structures, and other tools to create 2D drawings and 3D models.Collaborate with team members, including engineers, modelers and detailers, to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality design solutions within budget.Education Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a structural focus or equivalent experience required.Work Experience:No experience required.Certifications and Licenses:Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.Anticipated starting pay range:$72,000.00- $99,000.00Nothing is more important than your health and wellness.
