DPR Construction is seeking an Engineering student to assist in creating drawings, specifications, and calculations across design phases. You will help develop structural designs and analytical models while learning Tekla Structures and other CAD tools.

Job Summary: Responsible for supporting the creation of drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout all phases of project design under close supervision. Assist in developing structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials and perform calculations and analyses using basic knowledge of common codes with guidance from team members. Collaborate with engineers, modelers, and detailers to produce accurate 2D and 3D models using CAD tools, including Tekla Structures, and deliver coordinated, high-quality design solutions within budget and schedule. Support construction administration activities by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and participating in site visits as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of drawings, specifications, and calculations, with tasks that are specific and clearly outlined, during a project’s design phase life cycle from conceptual design to completion of construction documents under close supervision and coordination with managers.
  • Depending on depth of experience and knowledge base, assist in the development of structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials using basic knowledge of common codes, with assistance provided by other team members.
  • Supports construction administration activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
  • Utilize CAD software and other tools to create 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Learn the basic use of Tekla Structures software.
  • Collaborate with team members, including engineers, modelers and detailers, to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality design solutions within budget.

Education Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a structural focus required.

Work Experience: No experience required.

Certifications and Licenses: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in progress or intent to pursue preferred.

Anticipated starting pay range: $29.00- $46.00
