Job Title: Associate Strategic Sales Manager (SSM)

The Associate Strategic Sales Manager (SSM) is a field sales position responsible for growing revenue within a specific geographic region for WEX. The role involves expanding business through cold-calling, prospecting, consulting, and closing opportunities in the mid-market segment of the OTR base. This is achieved by face-to-face visits to new prospects to understand their business, propose WEX solutions, and close new business.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Understand and utilize the solution selling process, including Initial Executive Overview, Operational Overview, and Final Presentation.
  • Drive growth of the OTR Fleet Business by achieving individual revenue goals and managing expenses.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders vital to the success of the OTR Fleet business.
  • Comprehend the Rule of 78 and the individual compensation plan.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Salesforce.
  • Leverage market opportunities to position WEX’s products and services effectively, expanding the OTR Fleet business by selling new fleet solutions.
  • Prepare and execute comprehensive business plans to meet revenue targets.
  • Stay informed about current transportation industry trends and assess their potential impact on the Fleet business.
  • Have a complete understanding of all products and services within the OTR Fleet division.
  • Understand the financial implications of acquiring new customers.
Skills and Experience
  • 1-2+ years of strategic field sales experience.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Salesforce.com preferred.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 75% of the time.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range is $56,000 to $75,000, reflecting the low and high ends of the anticipated salary range. Actual pay will depend on qualifications, skills, and experience. Most sales roles are eligible for commissions, while non-sales roles may be eligible for quarterly or annual bonuses.
