Who We Are:

We develop, license, and support advanced engineering software used worldwide for structural integrity, fracture mechanics, and probabilistic life prediction. Alongside our contract research programs, our team administers the software consortiums, license programs and trainings that deliver these tools to government and commercial sponsors.

Objectives of this Role:

Manage the full lifecycle of software licensing agreements for SwRI-developed engineering software, including NASGRO and DARWIN. Serve as the key point of contact for licensees, resellers, and IT service providers, and coordinate licensing actions with contracts, general counsel, credit, and export control. Apply creative problem-solving and customer service skills to effectively manage software licensing, training programs and consortium programs. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills to independently multi-task in a fast-paced environment as a central member of a cross-functional team. Exercise sound judgement to effectively communicate and apply SwRI's established policies and procedures.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end contract development and execution for licenses, training programs and consortium agreements for multiple engineering software systems.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across Contracts, General Counsel, Credit, Export Control, IT, and engineering License Managers to strategize and develop creative solutions in resolving issues and improving processes.
  • Interface and effectively communicate with domestic and international clients, resellers, and government purchasing offices to respond to inquiries and resolve licensing and payment issues.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to licensing procedures, documentation, and internal processes.
  • Develop, draft, review, and negotiate software licensing and consortium agreements to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and other obligations.
Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Business, Pre-Law or related degree field with directly related contract administration experience.
  • 0-3 years: Experience in contract administration/management, procurement, subcontracts, or software licensing, including drafting and reviewing agreements.
  • 0-3 years: Experience working across multiple internal stakeholders.
  • 0-3 years: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle proprietary and confidential information with discretion.
  • 0-3 years: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:

Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to ITAR work in section.
