Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking motivated GNC engineers to design, analyze, and test spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control systems. You will work on attitude control loops, Kalman filters, and flight algorithms for DoD/NASA projects, in a team focused on spaceflight sub-systems.

Applicants should have advanced degrees in aerospace/mechanical engineering and strong MATLAB/Simulink plus C/C++ skills, with potential security clearance.

Qualifications

• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering.
• Be majoring in or having majored in an Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).
• Prefer GPA 3.4/4.0 or higher; proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and tune spacecraft attitude and position control loops using time and frequency domain techniques.
• Design, analyze, and tune sequential filters (e.g., Kalman filters) for attitude determination and relative navigation.
• Develop flight algorithms for the GNC subsystem and support flight software qualification testing.
• Analyze and test GNC subsystem performance with simulations and analytic tools.
